Best of the Oscars 2013!

Last night's Oscars red carpet brought a lot more of the same boring dresses with a few exceptions of course. These are my best dressed picks of the night.

Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen

The fit on this dress is perfect and I love the neckline. 

Halle Berry in Versace

In one awards season Halle has shown us how to do Versace the right way and the wrong way. The lines of this dress hug her curves perfectly.

Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior Couture

Not exactly shocking that she wore Dior, but Jennifer looks beautiful in this dress. And even though she tripped in it, she won the Oscar so congrats to her.

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu

This color looks great on Kerry and I love the detail on the bodice.

Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive

Although not the most exciting gown of the night, Jessica looks beautiful in it and the hair and makeup is perfection.

Zoe Saldana in Alexis Mabille

I could do without the bow on the belt, but overall I love this dress. 

Naomi Watts in Armani Prive

I love the futuristic look of this gown. A sparkly silver column dress sounds kind of boring on paper but the details of this dress are anything but. Naomi rarely disappoints on the red carpet and I think this may be my favorite look of the night.

Sophia Webster Fall 2013

When Sophia Webster debuted her line of shoes and bags last year I was instantly a fan. She continues to create more fabulous designs with her new Fall 2013 line. She said her inspiration for this line was Jackson Pollock meets Marie Antoinette. This interesting combo of inspiration created some very interesting shoes. The booties in the first pic are my favorite but I'm also loving the ridiculous holographic thigh-high gladiators. Perhaps not the most wearable of shoes but definitely a show stopper.

Tom Ford Fall 2013

Thank God for Tom Ford! Just when I was thinking that although there's been several great shows, nothing from London has really knocked my socks off so far. Well worry no more! Mr. Ford has taken care of that with a faaaabulous collection staged yesterday at the first runway show for his namesake label.

In the past we had to wait to see images from the collections but thankfully we get instant gratification with Fall 2013. Sequins! Patchwork! Fur! Ka-pow motifs! And the boots! OMG the boots! Everything was so incredibly over the top it bordered on bad taste. And that's precisely why I loved it. There's a place for clothes like this just as there's a place for the chic minimal styles of Narciso Rodriguez or Calvin Klein. You need to have both to fully appreciate each style.

Christopher Kane Fall 2013

Camo, undone stitching, feathers and brain prints were all part of Christopher Kane's Fall 2013 collection. Kane is pretty good at mixing a lot of different elements into one cohesive collection. My favorite looks are the sheer dresses with the thick embroidery and the brains.

Peter Pilotto Fall 2013

London fashion week is here and that means prints galore! And Peter Pilotto is certainly no exception. I loved the bold colored graphic prints that give this label its signature look. I particularly love the printed coat with the fur collar. So cozy and so chic!

Proenza Schouler Fall 2013

Jack and Lazaro's Fall 2013 collection was a study in black and white. As much as I loved the bold digital prints of their Spring collection, I'm really loving these more refined looks. The chain link dresses and the gorgeous black and white finale dresses were my favorites.
