A Plethora of Shoes!

Since we've been having such amazing summer weather in Chicago, I present a plethora of summer sandals!

Also on a bit of a side note, plethora is one of my all time favorite words. It's so much more fun to say than 'a lot of' and it makes you sound smart.  Use it in a sentence today!  See, I'm not only about shoes and cute cat pictures over here. I'm about edumacatin' the masses too  :)

Perfect Piece: Alphabet Rings

I love these simple handmade gold alphabet rings from Catbird.  They're the perfect piece to wear everyday.  I always enjoy when you can personalize something to make it more uniquely you.  You can wear these alone or stacked together.  You can spell out your initials or even a word.  They also come in silver if that's more your flavor.  Or mix it up and wear the gold and silver together.  Maybe I'll get my cat's initials! I'm such a dork.

I also found this adorable ring by Bittersweets NY on the Catbird website.  Too cute!

Spikes

My Jeffery Campbell Spike boots have arrived!  Just in time for the 80 degree weather here in Chicago  :)

I've been lusting after these babies since last year, but due to some gross misjudgment on the part of my boyfriend (apparently he doesn't think shoes make a good Christmas gift?!) I didn't get these amazing shoes/weapons until today.  I. Love. These. Shoes!  They're kinda heavy and the spikes are actually really sharp but dammit they're so cool!  Also, they came in the raddest shoe box I've ever seen.  Cats are on it!

This adorable card was inside the box. It says "Watch it, lady. Our studded shoes are spikey. Please be careful."  And boy are they ever!  These shoes could double as weapons.

Tom Ford Fall 2012

Tom Ford is notorious for being very exclusive about his fashion shows.  Photography is forbidden and we have to wait to see the clothes.  Up until now the only glimpses of Tom Ford's Fall 2012 collection we've seen have been on celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lawrence. But today we have a video released by Tom Ford!  Everything looks super glamorous.  I'll take one of each please!

Cat and Mouse

This is the only good reason I can think of for having a baby.  Coordinating outfits!  Beyonce is wearing the fabulous Charlotte Olympia kitty flats and Blue Ivy is wearing Marc Jacobs mouse slippers.  Too cute!

Budget Shopping with Style: Kmart

As Paris fashion week draws to a close, it's time to come back down to reality.  While we all enjoyed looking at the beautiful clothes, most of us don't have the budget to actually buy these pieces.  So what do you do when you want a stylish look without breaking the bank?  Hit up your local budget friendly shops of course!  I think everyone is pretty familiar with the budget fashion powerhouses of H&M, Forever 21 and Topshop.  Of course you can find fashion forward pieces at all these stores, and of course they're all affordable.  But how about some of the places that you don't usually think of when you're looking for something stylish to add to your wardrobe?  You never know what you can find when you dig deep and look for treasures at some of these places.

All Aboard the LV Train!

Models emerged from an actual train at the Fall 2012 Louis Vuitton show.  Each model had a uniformed attendant to escort them off the train and carry their luggage.  So cool!  Unfortunately those darn oversize floppy hats, similar to the ones seen earlier this month at the Marc Jacobs show, kept distracting me from the actual clothes.  Why the hats, Marc?  Why?!
