Summer Beauty Must Haves

1. Dior Lip Glow

Sheer lip balm that responds to the color chemistry of your lips to create your own unique shade.  This balm is perfect for casual summer cookouts and lounging by the pool. It creates a color that's natural yet enhanced.  It's also very moisturizing and not sticky at all.

2. Neon Nail Polish

Illamasqua Nail Polish in Collide, Gamma and Rare

Neon is hot this summer and looks great on your nails. Illamasqua makes my favorite true neons this season.

3. Waterproof Eyes

Diorshow is my favorite mascara for full dramatic lashes. The waterproof formula ensures your lashes will still look fab after a refreshing dip in the pool. Stila Sparkle Eyeliner is my favorite liquid option. It's really easy to apply and the sparkle is very subtle. Urban Decay 24/7 is my favorite waterproof pencil option. It glides on smooth and there's a plethora of colors to choose from.

4. Wave Spray

Apply to damp hair, let air dry and....boom! instant loose, beachy waves!

5. Cream Blushes/Tints

Powder blushes can look chalky and become streaky in the hot summer months but creams and tints will give your skin a natural dewy look. And you can use them on your lips too!

Breaded!

Apparently Pusheen the cat doesn't mind being breaded.

Too bad I can't say the same thing about my cats  :)

I'm a Sucker for Sea Creatures

Which explains one of my latest acquisitions, this beautiful Jan Michaels seahorse cuff I picked up at my favorite Roscoe Village boutique, Glam To Go.  Definitely check it out if you're looking for unique jewelry and accessories you can't find at the mall. The owner, Jenny, is also super duper nice.

I also picked up this cool double stone ring at Glam To Go. There are a bunch more available in different color combos and sizes.

Go Cubs Go!

Cubs manicure for the game last Saturday! Apparently not a lucky manicure though as the Cubs got beat by the Red Sox 4-3  :(

Sephora Collection Nail Lacquer 'My Favorite Jeans'  /  Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen - 'Red'

Shoe Love

Tiny leopards on your feet! They look so vicious and adorable at the same time! I need these now.

Vintage Garage

There's more vintage-y goodness coming to Chicago this Sunday at the Vintage Garage!  With almost 100 vendors there's bound to be something for everyone. I love vintage markets because you can find unique pieces that won't break the bank.

My tips for shopping the Vintage Garage:
1. Bring cash (some vendors do accept credit but cash is easier to bargain with)
2. Know your measurements.  Vintage clothing sizes are different than modern day clothes and you don't always have the opportunity to try on your finds.
3. Wear comfy shoes. Since you'll be doing a fair amount of walking, you don't want painful feet to distract you from you bargain hunting.
4. Wear clothes that you can easily slip things over (unless you don't mind disrobing in front of strangers)
5. Get there early before all the good stuff is gone!

Vintage Garage:
5051 N. Broadway
Chicago, IL
Every third Sunday from 9-4 pm
May through October

Prabal Gurung Resort 2013

I adore Prabal Gurung!  Seriously, I don't think he could create an bad collection even if he tried.  I'm a sucker for his use of bold colors and interesting prints and his recent Resort 2013 collection delivers. If you have the budget, or just want to torture yourself, you can pre-order the collection on Moda Operandi but hurry up because the trunk show ends on June 20th. As for my own personal pick, I will be ordering that gorgeous red gown in the last picture and a printed frock or two (in my dreams of course).

Karl Lagerfeld: Cat Spoiler

I had posted previously about Karl Lagerfeld's adorable kitten Choupette and recently Karl let us in on some details of Choupette's glamorous life in an interview with WWD.

"She is a famous beauty. She is nine months old. [Model] Baptiste [Giaconi] gave her to me for Christmas to watch for two weeks when he was away but then I refused to give her back. I thought she was too cute. She is like a kept woman. She has a strong personality. She has lunch and dinner with me on the table, with her own food. She doesn’t touch my food. She doesn’t want to eat on the floor. She sleeps under a pillow and she even knows how to use an iPad. She has two personal maids, for both night and day. She is beyond spoiled."

"We do keep a diary. When I am not there, the maids take down, in little books, everything she did, from what she ate, to how she behaved, if she was tired, and if she wasn’t sleeping. In the nine months, we already have almost 600 pages. Colette had written a lot about cats. I am not Colette, but I think it could be funny to make a little book of Choupette’s diary."

Two maids?!  And I thought my cats were spoiled princesses! But you won't find Choupette dressed up in any miniature sized Chanel outfits.  Apparently Karl doesn't like animals in human clothes; he thinks it's very circus-like.

And now a photo of Choupette using (probably her own) iPad!
