Kanye West Fall 2012

Last night in Paris, Chi-town's own Kanye West sent his second collection down the catwalk.  It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Kanye West's music.  His Grammy award winning My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is genius. But can he conquer the fashion world the same way he has conquered the music world?  That has yet to be seen but his second collection was a marked improvement from his first.  For one, the clothes didn't seem to have the same terrible fit issues on the models that the first collection had.  And the collection seemed a little more focused with a tight edit of only 20 looks.  Style.com says Kanye won 'a much-improved badge'.  You gotta start somewhere right?

The rest of the reviews weren't so great but I'm looking forward to seeing how Kanye grows as a designer.  At the very least, I admire his dedication to fashion.  He's out there learning as he goes and putting in the work when there are so many other celebrity "designers" who just sit back while someone else puts out a bunch of shit under their names.  **That being said, I am a fan of Jessica Simpson's shoe line  :)

Kim Kardashian showing her support at the show wearing the $6,000 heels from Kayne's Spring collection.

And apparently Taylor Swift has forgiven Kanye for his outburst at the 2009 MTV VMA's.  Here she is in an image from Australian Harper's Bazaar wearing a top from his first collection.  Christine Centenera (she's the Harper's Bazaar Australia fashion editor who consulted with Kanye on his first collection) styled the looks for Taylor's shoot.

Alexander McQueen Fall 2012

Sarah Burton showed another beautiful collection in Paris yesterday. Extravagant confections walked the runway in goat fur, ostrich feather or Mongolian lamb

This dress was one of my favorites.  If I owned this dress I would wear it everywhere.  I can't think of an occasion where a floor length pink puffball dress wouldn't be appropriate!  I like that you can still wear it even if you're having a 'fat day' since no one can tell where your body starts in that thing anyway.

There were pretty looks in all white with capes and furry gloves and boots.  However, I'm not a huge fan of the heel-less shoe made popular by Lady Gaga.

And some bright bursts of color mixed in as well.

Must have...

I love a good statement necklace.  This jeweled collar from Pixie Market is a fun alternative option to a statement necklace.  Plus adding a collar makes any shirt look instantly more professional.  Right?  Sure!
