Christian Dior Resort 2014

Raf Simons' collection for Dior was one of the first resort collections to be shown this year. For that reason, I held off on talking about it as one of my favorites. I figured with so many more collections yet to see it might get bumped from that number one spot. But weeks later and I'm still in love with it. And that's not to say that there just weren't very many good resort collections this year because there were some beauties. Resort is always one of my favorite seasons even though it's not as big as the Spring and Fall collections just because the clothes tend to be full of color and pattern.

So even after seeing some really great collections that were right up my alley, I couldn't stop thinking about Dior. I felt like this collection was the the first that Raf Simons created for Dior that felt more like Raf with a touch of Dior.  Rather than the previous collections, which were nice, but felt more like Dior with a touch of Raf. Does that make any sense? Anyway, perhaps he's more comfortable in his role now and we'll get to see more of this for the upcoming Spring and Fall shows. But for now, lets enjoy these beautiful looks from what I'm sure was an amazing show in Monaco.

A La Plage, A La Piscine

If you're needing a little inspiration to get on with it already and try on that new swimsuit, check out these photos from Gray Malin's A La Plage, A La Piscine series. These gorgeous views were shot from a helicopter at locations all over the world. I just love this series for representing so many things I love; color, pattern and, of course, summertime!

Summertime Chi

It's finally summer in Chicago!  And that means it's time for a new swimsuit!  I am a firm believer that every new summer deserves a new swimsuit. Here are some suits I'm into this year and a couple I already own. And of course, there are a few flamingo options in there. I'm more of a bikini girl but the flamingo one piece in the center is adorable and it looks like a bikini from the back!

The Perfect Clutch

The perfect clutch to me would be any one adorned with flamingos. My obsession with our pink feathered friends is well documented here and I'm pretty sure these Edie Parker clutches were destined to be mine. Of course the price tag is a bit of an obstacle. But if you have $1,500 to blow I say you can't go wrong!

2013 Met Gala Red Carpet

Monday night was the 2013 Met Gala and with a punk theme there was bound to be some interesting looks.

Beyonce in Givenchy

Although it's reminiscent of last year's dress, I do love a dramatic train.

Emma Watson in Prabal Gurung

Simple but really cool.

Gwen Stefani in Margiela

Love this dress!

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian in Givenchy

I know most people think I'm crazy, but I love these two! And I'm so happy that Kim got to go this year after being supposedly banned last year. She's pregnant and wearing a floor length gown complete with a glove/sleeve hybrid. What more could I ask for?  :)

Rooney Mara in Givenchy

Soooooo pretty! And I actually don't hate the dark lips for once.

Rosie Huntington Whitely in Gucci

A very sexy dress and she looks gorgeous in it.

Sienna Miller in Burberry

Simple dress but that jacket is insane! I want that in my closet now.

Solange Knowles in Kenzo

Love her. Love Kenzo. Solange can do no wrong in my eyes.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Giles Deacon

Dress is great, hat is amazing and the shoes are to die for! SJP wins as far as I'm concerned. She looks awesome and she stuck to the theme.

Better view of SJP's Phillip Treacy mohawk headpiece.

Check out those custom made velvet plaid Louboutin boots. AMAZING. That is all.
