Louis Vuitton Spring 2014

The rumors were true. After 16 years, this was Marc Jacobs' last collection for Louis Vuitton. Although there was discussion about Marc leaving LV to focus on his namesake brand, he says he didn't make the decision that this was his last collection until the day of the show. The show definitely had the feel of a final collection. The sets were all re-creations of many of the sets used throughout Marc's 16 years, this time done in shades of black. In fact the entire collection was done in black with a sprinkling of navy blue and denim. The heavily embellished looks were inspired by showgirls and each model wore a gorgeous Stephen Jones designed headpiece of ostrich feathers.

Marc Jacobs has put on some amazing shows in his time at Louis Vuitton. This is a show I look forward to each season not just for the beautiful clothes but also for the jaw-dropping sets (hello LV train!). It will be very interesting to see who they find to fill his shoes. It won't be an easy thing to do.
